Passports and Visas
Citizens of the United States are required to carry a valid passport for International travel. You may apply for a passport at a United States Post Office with Passport Agent. Most foreign countries will require your passport to be valid for at least six months from your scheduled return date. Please remember to make copies of your passport and leave one at home and keep another one with you while traveling. This will be helpful in case you lose your passport or it gets stolen. Many countries will also require a visa. Your Cruise and Tour Expert will advise if any visas are required for your destination. Here are a few helpful links:

Foreign Currency
When traveling abroad, you will want to be prepared with local currency and payment methods appropriate for that country. It is usually best to take your credit cards for larger purchases and you should not have problems using them in major tourist areas around the globe. It is important to have local currency on hand for purchasing smaller items, visiting markets or buying from street vendors. You can obtain foreign currency before your departure or you can use an ATM while traveling. Contact your credit card company and let them know when and where you will be traveling so that you are able to use your card without any problems. Your bank will be able to tell you where the ATM machines can be found in the city you are visiting. For current exchange rates and a currency converter, please visit www.xe.com.
Stay Healthy While Traveling
Being prepared and understanding your destination will help you stay healthy and enjoy your trip to the fullest. Your Cruise and Tour Expert will assist you with information on any health concerns associated with the area of the world you are traveling to. You will also be advised if there are any vaccinations needed prior to departure.
While traveling, keep healthy by avoiding tap water, opened water bottles and ice. Make sure to wash your hands and use a sanitizer often. When traveling to China, Africa or areas of poverty make sure to wear closed toed shoes as there may be litter on the sidewalks and streets.
Make sure to bring all medications and keep them in your carry-on bags. Keep prescriptions handy in case they need to be filled while abroad. It is also a good idea to bring pain reliever, antacid and any other medication of this type from home. These items may not be readily available while traveling.
